Modern Italian Master” Saverio Lucci gives a fresh, modern take to the great traditions of Italian portrait painting. His exquisite and very contemporary Asian and European women are frequently portrayed in historical settings or garments – they are romantic, calm and beautiful.
Fabrik Gallery is delighted to invite you to meet Lucci and be our guest at the Opening on Wednesday September 23rdfrom 6.30pm. Lucci is an avid student of art history and the methods used by the Old Masters, and uses the Renaissance technique of “Encausto” in many of his portraits.
This involves the delicate application a many layers of bees wax, alternating with oil paint, to produce a rich and vibrant patina. Lucci enjoys success not just as an artist, but also as an interior decorator, theatre designer and furniture designer. His commissions include the design of the palace of Her Highness Sheikha Bin Rashid Al Maktoum in Dubai, the palace of the Royal Family in Kuala Lumpur, and the One & Only Royal Mirage in Dubai. He is also an acknowledged art restorer, and counts the Kremlin in Moscow among his clients.
The artist was born in the Ferrara region of Italy, has lived all over the world, and currently lives and paints in Thailand.
